Counselor Appointments
Mr. Fuller serves the general counseling needs of Otsego Middle School students and parents. If parents or guardians wish to consult with him, it is best to arrange a meeting in advance: call the middle school office at 692-6199 or email him at the address listed below. Students may contact Mr. Fuller as they are free and able throughout the school day. If he is busy or away from his office, students have been informed to fill out a "blue note" (contact form) located on a stand immediately inside the counseling office outer door. Once completed, students return the form to the "black box" located on the same stand. Requests are kept confidential.
In crisis situations (school or home) Mr. Fuller will meet with students immediately and devise a plan to "survive the day" (short-term) and discuss possible solutions and shifts in problem-solving strategy (long-term). In situations where he believes a student would benefit from on-going counseling, he will make arrangements to meet with the student on a regular basis (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) or refer the student (and his/her parents) to an outside counselor and/or agency (click the "counseling resources" tab for local area mental health providers).

He taught elementary art in Rockford (2 years) and Comstock (11 years) before joining the OMS Counseling Department in February 2003. He earned his Master's Degree in Counseling from WMU in 2000, and obtained his current certificate as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2008: a license that allows him to counsel students and adults of all ages. Besides working with students and their families, Mr. Fuller enjoys frisbee with black labs, playing acoustic bass, acting and singing at The New Vic Theatre in Kalamazoo, yelling at the TV when the Detroit Tigers are playing, and spending time at his cabin on the Sturgeon River up north (don't get him started on kayaking!).
